Default Solution to the fast blinker problem.

After installing the leds into my turn signals i had the fast blinker because the resistance was different. Well i went to the local parts store and i got a variable load thermal blinker relay for a vw cabrio and bam! fixed the whole thing. the blinker relay is located right behind the dash, in out less then 5 minutes.

Default Good deal! I posted below about some of the issues to think about with this but

it looks like you have it solved! And to think, if I had just read this first, I wouldn't have gone off on my usual long-post analysis...

Default The stock relay has a current sensor circuit which senses the load current of the bulbs. Too low a..

current (like a burned out bulb) and the flash rate is increased to warn the driver. The old-fashoned thermoblinker flasher relays do not change the blink rate idf the load current changes.

Or, connect a 12 ohm 20 watt resistor across the LED blinker lamp terminals.

Default Hey ARK, since you list a 12ohm resistor......

...you must know the minimum current to set off the OEM relay.

Using your resistor I calculate it to be somewhere around 1A.

Is it correct to assume that is the miniumum current for the OEM relay (before it starts flashing faster??)??

TIA!!

Default I am guessing (with margin) that 1 amp of load current is enough to inhibit the fast blink rate.....

The actual threshold is probably less.
