Default '84 4000 wont start HELP PLEASE

So, Yesterday i was driving around on a pretty bad street and i happened to have a car full of people. I took a pretty quick right turn and didn't see the huge outcropping of cement in the middle of the road... So long story short, my muffler hit that **** and got ripped off. Then my car died, actually it either died or i just stalled it. I cant really remember since i was so surprised and angry at what had just happened.
I tried starting her up and no use. I looked under the hood and reattached some hoses that came off in the jolt and still no use. Then I looked for some more detached stuff and found nothing.
I did some research and it seems like it might be my EGR valve but i really don't know for sure.

Is there anything specific i should troubleshoot for?
Or is there anything else it might be besides the EGR valve?

First thing that comes to mind, which happened to me once, is that the oxygen sensor may have gotten damaged. With mine a huge rock tore the wires and it kept blowing the #13 (fuel pump) fuse. Check that fuse and see if it's blown. If all the fuses are good then check out the oxygen sensor. It should be just forward of the catalytic converter.

That's one thing to check. I'd give the whole car a once-over. You have fuel lines and other stuff under the car that could have been affected.

ohhhh, that sounds bad. How much of your exhaust was damaged? I can tell you for a fact that if the exhaust is leaking before the mufflers, the engine will run very poorly. Though it should still run. And what hoses exactly came apart? these cars have some really tricky hose setups for the vacuum system. you may have attached them wrong. it must have been quite the bump...

Also what rog said, the fuel lines arent tucked away too well and one of them may have been snapped or bent.

And while you are checking those fuel lines, check the fuel pump itself. Its not like most cars so the pump is mounted outside the tank. the origial pumps cant take hard hits. Some sort of magnet inside breaks, so im told. that could be the issue. If it still works, you should be able to hear it buzz before you fully turn the key.
