Default DigiDash repair/replacement, getting desperate.

The Digidash in my 87.5 SB was fucntional until I jump-started the car with the key on and is now inop. Very stupid on my part. I have searched high and low from forums to ebay.de and ebayUK and cannot find a replacement. Audi seems to have discontinued it in 2002. I have found a few names that have been thrown my way as people who can repair them but have hit dead-ends. I'm sure I blew a diode or two from the voltage spike but there is ceiling to my electrical know-how with this stuff. I have called every digital speedometer place in the country I could find and none will even look at it. It can't be that bad, can it? I could really use some help or pointers! I have nearly completed this project and the Digidash is my last part. Help! Thanks everyone.

I would start with the voltage regulator on the back of the cluster. "if" it was working like it should that would have overloaded and fried during the surge first since its just a resistor. If that happened that would explain no power getting to the cluster.

Fuse is good. There is no sepearate voltage regulator on the back, it is one solid circuit board but I noticed a lot of Zener diodes which tells me voltage regulation. It is the orange dash.

It is orange-reddish. Didn't know there was two styles of the red dash. But nonetheless thank you for the info.
