LOL, most definitely. It usually gets better after a bit of driving, but most have ticking at least on startup. If you drive it daily you'll probably find that any increased ticking is a good way to tell when it's a bit low on oil, but if it sits for more than a couple days it'll tick for awhile anyway.
The main thing to remember is that it's not particularly a bad thing, so don't have a lot of anxiety about it. Many have been driven mad trying to get rid of it...
