ACNA sponsors a driving event at the BIR track every summer, usually in July. I really, really recommend attending the event. It is made up of a half day of driving exercises or "lessons" on car control: braking, slalom, skid pad and lane change. They are all a lot of fun and you really get to feel how your car performs in a variety of extreme conditions. That is followed by a day and a half of track time - with an instructor in the car with you - generally about 30 minutes on-track, 90 minutes to cool down and attend classrooms about car control and handling. I have attended every year as a student since 99 or 2000 and the past few years as an instructor. There are similar events at many tracks around the country including some of the old legendary ones like Watkins Glen and Daytona - I usually attend 2 or 3 of these plus BIR every year. It would be great to have another Coupe GT at the track. At the Audi Club Nationals a few years ago, there was another member of this group there - from Connecticut. Click on my "posted by" link at the top of this reply to email me to let me know when you might be around - we can trade car stories; and if you time it right, there are a number of us Audi Club people that meet for lunch in St. Paul about every couple of weeks - you could meet them too.
