Default Engine Code?
If I understand correctly the engine code is on the driver side of the engine followed by a 6 digit number. My engine has a 9 digit code stamped on the side. Is my engine code a number? or am I looking at the wrong thing? It's an '88 5ktq, can I search for the engine code by VIN, and if so where online could I do this. TIA

Look closely, as they can be deceptive.

Yep MC-1. 86-88 5000 turbo's were all MC-1
