how to remove a broke bolt stem??????????????????????????
i tightened one of the bolts that holds the v8 valve cover on and snapped off the stem the bolt attaches to. How do I remove the broken stem?

double nut it
No, it's not a dirty saying.
Remove the valve cover.
Thread one normal nut on all the way (6mm?) until it bottoms out on the head. Just thread it on by hand, no need to tigthen it any.
Then thread another nut on until it bottoms out on the first nut.
Put a wrench on the BOTTOM nut and rotate counter-clockwise. This will push up on the top nut and cause the stud to rotate CCW and remove itself.

Looks like there's a washer or something in between the nuts in the pic. Don't worry about that.

Just in case I understand your problem differently:
an dthe stud is broken off flush: Buy a set of small "Easy outs" from a tool store (Sears sells them). You drill a pilot hole into the stud and then insert the easy out and then using a suitable wrench turn the easy out counter-clockwise.

heard about easy outs but it is broke in a way i can use mrgoodbytes help.
but since i can going to the shop to get new front struts and fix the check engine light i will have them fix that as well. Still that is good information to know

Didn't you have a similar problem with one of the valve cover nut studs recently? Those are little 6mm studs and bolts. Why are you tightening them so much?
