NEW OWNER of a "98" Cab????
My wife and I just bought a 98 Cabriolet w 50,000 miles on it. It seems to be in outstanding shape....so far I think..LOL but have noticed a couple of little things. The one is the ABS off light come on every once in a while..is this something to be concerned about. The other thing is when she starts the car the ingnition switch stys in the start position. Tried spraying with graghite and hasn't corrected the problem. The last thing for now, is there a good shop manual you would suggest for the novice.
I've owned a 92 Miata for years and can fumble around with it but having a good manual has at least hleped me with speaking to the pro tech.

I have an odd ABS issue too. When I first start the car, all is fine, first or second time I hit the brakes, I hear an odd noise out front, the brake pedal goes down a half-inch, like it is losing fluid, the ABS light comes on and then it's as if ABS was deactivated and brakes seem to work normally, no more noise, etc. Pedal appears to be OK from then on, no idle issues, it appears I still have power brakes--just no ABS. Ideas?
