anyone happen to know of advantages of the RS2 intake mani vs the 3B or AAN?

Default the only thing was that the battery couldn't fit up front

so we've put it in the trunk !

Default Howsat?? There are several 3B/ABY/ADU CQ's running around with the battery up front in the stock

location. Couple of them reside on this forum even ;-)

Default The ABY is the S2's version of the AAN. The only difference is the IM and intake path.

It makes identical power, 228hp and 258lb-ft with the over-boost feature built into the stock Motronic system.

The ADU is the 315hp 20vt found ONLY IN THE RS2. At least from the factory. Porsche DID revise the ABY's intake manifold, cleaned it up a bit for a slight gain in flow. They increased the boost pressure, put a larger turbo on it, larger injectors, new tune for the ECU, small things like that.

VAG 5cyl 20vt usage in street cars:
KW - SQ - 304hp
RR - urq - 220hp
3B - 200q20v, S2 - 217hp
ABY - S2 - 228hp
AAN - S4, S6 - 228hp
ADU - RS2 - 315hp

I'm converting a 7A so just doing a bit-o-research on parts, but that's a nice looking engine! great for inspiration

Default Look at the picture...

We've tried to put a slim battery but it won't fit because of the pipe. The RS2 intake is a little different than the AAN ones so that's mainly why.
