Not at all. The automatic is in sensational condition. I'll be doing a driving video this weekend so I can insert the link into any ad I put up to sell the tranny.

I just don't think the automatic is the right transmission for this car. At all.

well...the market will be your enemy then, as a rebuilt 4HP by a good rebuilder would probably run $2k.

did you ever do the 5 speed in your cabrio? I've been thinking about the same or even a quattro/cinco/cabrio (four wheel drive five speed, cabriolet) seems like a good donor audi 90 beater would be the way to go. any thoughts or possible complications would be appreciated.

No, I didn't.

Do I still want to? Yes.

Do I still want to convince my wife to accept Olivia Wilde as the 3rd member of an open marriage? Yes.

These 2 scenarios are equally likely at this point, I'm afraid.
