btw, you can hire me to run parts to the PO, you'll have to supply your own vehicle though:-)

Default I'd rather hire someone to mix and pour the next 7,500 pieces...

as it's a full 12 hour a day, 30 day job as I cant mix more than 12 at a time or the urethane starts to set up. But I can pour about 260 a day as the urethane sets up quickly in my molds on a heated cast iron plate. Still, its grueling work and messy. If these numbers keep up I may contract with a company to cast these for me but I keep thinking at some point I'll saturate the market and I'll be stuck with 25,000 of these if I do that.

Time will tell

Default yeah, keeping the supply at that border level is hard to balance...

you offer too much, you are stuck w/excess inventory, you offer too little, you loose customers.

Default and people dont have a clue about how labor-intensive these are...

or how much work goes into these parts. They think they fall out of a mold ready-to-go and nothing could be further from the truth. Just the material alone is $21.60 per pair for ISO spec urethane in this Shore Durometer hardness. And there's spillage and waste and blemished/damaged parts or air bubble voids that render an insert aesthetically and/or mechanically unuseable. Then EVERY insert has to be individually frozen to dry ice (liquid CO2) temps then machined to a finish thickness that is either street, race, off-road or custom. Then hardened washers are added along with C-4130 cromoly hardened, zinc plated CNC'd slotted nuts. Then plastic bags, padded envelopes, tape, shipping labels and Priority Mail w/Delivery Confirmation shipping costs (to US buyers). And none of this touches the original CNC'd molds or the R&D time involved and the prototypes and Beta units given to testers for free. They think these should run a "buck-a-pop." I personally believe they're a monumental bargain! And it would appear many many others do as well.

Material alone in these costs twice as much to make one insert as a snub-mount costs in materials and the snub mount has 8x the urethane volume but in a WAY more affordable Shore A Durometer and no machining... truly mix-pour-cast-n-ship.

These are way way more labor intensive/material expensive in terms of comparison to a snubbie.

But I LOVE that I was able to make something that neither Audi or Sachs/Boge was unable/unwilling to do and have it thumb its nose at all the damage an Audi can throw at it (least so far/fingers crossed).

Default Just curious how you arrived at 3.5M miles. Does everyone report back or.....

do the mount-savers have little built-in mileage transponders? ;-)

Default people have been WONDERFUL at reporting mileages/performance even now, 3 months later...

But nowhere near "all" or 100% report back. Fully 1/4 I never hear from again. While I suspect the numbers to be DRAMATICALLY higher I only use numbers that have been reported to me as "actual" by owners driving on them. I believe the numbers are literally over twice what I'm reporting but not "claiming" they are. And I'm dangerously close to a point where mileages are becoming of little or no concern. If they were gonna fail in any semblence of consistency it would've happened long before now either on actual cars or the ones still being tested in accelerated hot/cold/pressure tests that remain ongoing.

Default while 3.5M is an impressive number, the average mileage per pair is about 1600.

Assuming you didn't count the ones that haven't reported back. 2100 if you did. How long do you expect them to last? Tough to speculate of course, but it'd be interesting to see where they're at in 3 years from now. Personally I have no doubt they'll outlast most of the cars they're on. Keep us posted...
