Audi 1.6 TDI Sudden Loss Of Power
I had just gotten onto the motorway this morning when the car suddenly started jittering and there was a noticeable loss of power, then the engine management light came on so i pulled over to the hard shoulder and stopped
I switched the engine off and started it up and after a brief pause the engine started and the light didn't come back on, power was back okay
I rang my car dealership as I wanted to book the car in for a check as it's still under warranty, however they advised that the problem was that every now and then I need to drive at 55mph in 4th gear so that the carbon build up can be broken down?
If you don't do this they need to do something else to the car themselves and that costs money as it isn't covered by the warranty
Has anyone ever heard of having to do this or had the same issue I did as it's quite worrying as there was no warning of a problem and suddenly having no power on the motorway is very dangerous
Thanks
