*Annoying* New Member Needs Help 2...
If you were unfortunate enough to read my last post, you would see that I am about to buy either 1.8 or 1.8T (still undecided and waiting to see what you lot think).
I have found a 1.8 sport in a garage very close to home that is perfect for what I am after (I won't say where in case someone decides to go grab it before me!).
NOW, the rollers on it don't seem to be the standard ones for the 1.8. Can anyone fill me in on what they are and what size they could be. (You can't see clearly enough in the pic)
I thought perhaps 17s from an RS4, but I don't know, that's just from flicking through this forum.
Again, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Si
they look like 18's or even 19's so tyres could be pricey.
you can see the difference here replica on the left genuine on the right, you can buy the proper caps but they are expensive

as for wether to go for a turbo or a standard it really depends on hw long you plan to keep it and what you might want to do in the future.
I've had my 18T for 6 years now and have just gone over 100,000 miles I have recently had it chipped and it feels like a new car again.
If you plan to keep it for a while then you will get a much larger increase with the turbo, i would expect you would only get 10% out of the standard against a 40% increase on the turbo.
by the way have you tried tescos for insurance, Ifound them very good.
hope this helps

they are available in 17", 18" and 19", just so you know the genuine audi ones are probably about twice the price

Hmmm, interesting.
Again.
I've been to see this car a couple of times now so am quite serious.
I'm just worried though, if those ARE 18s or even 19s, that when it comes to new tyres time, how much is all that rubber going to cost?
Anyone with any price guidance for stupidly big tyres?
Si
they do look like 18's to me
best place I have found for tyres is <a href="http://www.tyresave.co.uk/tyres_17.html"> Tyresave</a>
225.40.18 ZR
Hankook K102 £110
<img src="http://www.tyresave.co.uk/graphics/hk_k102.jpg">
Goodyear F1 £142
<img src="http://www.tyresave.co.uk/graphics/gdyr_f1.gif">
then you'll pay about £25 to get em fitted and ballanced.

I was expecting you to say ~200/corner
Those aren't bad prices.
Thanks again for your help.
Hopefully the next time I post on here, it will be with a pic of a nice shiny A3 that belongs to me!
No more farting Clios!
