Dealer says they can't fix the 3G iPhone volume problem in our 2008 A3 2.0...
The dealer keeps saying its an iPhone software problem but we have the latest firmware and the phones work fine in our 09 TT - we can crank the volume way up if needed when someone calls. Also, our iPhones worked just fine with the A3 for the first few months we had the car, then one day the volume control stopped working.
Any ideas? I am getting frustrated as this is the second round on this with the dealer. For service to say it can't be fixed is really bad. Audi shouldn't sell a new car with a feature and then claim it can't be fixed when it doesn't work. Some people would call this fraud.
you could test your phone with another A3 that they may have on the lot to replicate the problem, just to prove its not a model issue (it works in your TT) if it can not be replicated in a newer A3, than your unit is defective and should be replaced.
Sorry - I couldn't resist.
It sounds like your BT module has bit the dust. Try a different dealer...
I pretty much told him to replace the unit because nothing else is working and I am sick of not being able to use my phone as promised on a 30k car. I am also tired of Audi saying nothing can be done which is a really bad way to treat customers. If you sell a feature then deliver on it.
I have heard that many of the 06/07 models were lemons and I am starting to worry about having constant problems with this car.
