Help/advice please, engine diagnostic errors...
I took my 2001 S3 in for some work to be done under warranty, sticky/squeaking clutch pedal, condensation in fog lamp and loss of power from time to time when hammering it.
Basically, none of the work was done, except that the clutch pedal no longer squeaks, probably a drop of 3-in-1 - it's still sticky.
More worrying though is the report I have been given by the garage - the engine diagnostics has shown the following error - 16395, P0011 035 - Bank2, camshaft timing control Malfunction, sporadic fault.
What does this mean? They didn't seem too concerned so it got me thinking that perhaps it's the usual fob-off when the outcome is No Fault Found.
It sounds like a problem to me. Just wanted some other opinions/similar experiences.
Perhaps another tick in the crap dealership/crap service for Aston Green Reading.......
Well it sounds serious to me too, but I'm no engine expert! And your post is the first I've seen with a fault code documented.
But to tell you the truth, I think you've been pretty lucky in getting a report back from the dealer with the fault code on. I get sod-all from my local dealer.
I'd take the car to another dealer. I think Aston Green Slough is supposed to be better, but don't take my word for it - I live up north!
Seeing you've got the fault code, AmD might be able to give you some advice. Scott at AmD has a very good reputation as being one of the best Audi technicians.
