First few minutes, honest to god. "Wow I love how your car turns, it's like a completely different car". She also liked the pick up. But the point is, she noticed the handling, and she wasn't uncomfortable. And that is a great selling point right there.
I think I'll give her a rear sway bar for her birthday
This is important because the piston speed from hitting bumps is much higher than the speed from driver-induced actions such as cornering and braking. You want stiff at low speed, and soft at high speed.
All that said, proper matching of the damping characteristics to the spring rate is also very important, so replacing shocks without knowing what spring rates they were designed for is risky too. Buying a matched set like Ryan did obviates this problem.
FWIW my dealership gives out A3/DSG/Sports for loaners, I just got one with 1k on the clock, it was much stiffer... confirming my suspicions.
