I have never seen that before. I hear if too much oil is put into an engine it causes problems.

Default Yes, it is normal...happens on most cars during cold months. It is...

simply moisture condensation due to the ventilated(pcv) oil system. You may even see it on the dipstick if car has been sitting for awhile in extreme cold. First time I saw this on one of my cars living in Lake Tahoe I freaked and ran around to a couple mechanics thinking blown head gasket. But, tuened out to be nothing. Goes away with weather change. Nothing to worry about.

Hope this helps.

Default I'd freak too because I've never seen it either.

I guess I've never lived in a cold enough environment to have seen that happen.

I've seen it on my past cars(2001 jetta, 1997 ford f-150), and my Audi. It's usually confined to the oil cap and right below at top of engine. Even where you're at, if you live in southern cal, you may see it if weather is on the cold side and you haven't driven the car for several days.

Normal. Drive more and let the oil get completely heated up before you park.

My 6000 mile 2.0t has this same crud. It is a concern for a new millenium design engine.
