Remote Window Control

Recently visited my dealer for the 5000 mile check up and asked the dealer to program the car to roll down the windows with the remote.

I have read on this board that it is possible but the dealer said it was not. They even said they contacted Audi and they to said it was not possible. What's the deal?

Can anyone clarify? Is it possible and what do I need to tell them?

Ours came with that feature enabled.

Our dealer told us that it was not possible to open the doors selectively (only the driver's door opens with the first button press), which I think is also not true

Driver's door opens with "one click" for a reason.

It's late at night. Your A3 is parked in the Wal-Mart parking lot. You depress the unlock button on your remote. All four doors unlock. You open the driver's door and climb in. Some less-than-desireable character opens the front passenger's door (or rear passenger's door) and also climbs in...brandishing a knife. Now what do you do? Me, no problem. The next sound you hear will be 164 db as 125 gr. of copper-jacketed lead leaves the barrel of my .357 magnum at some 1603 fps. My ears will ring for three days. Any advice on removing bloodstains from leather, carpeting & headliner material?

You can definitly set it up for selective door opening

That is a featuer the dealers are supposed to acknowledge and change if you feel you want it.

Mine is not setup like that and I still hit it twice thinking I'm getting into my jetta.. I like it for convenience having iton one press, but for safety, not that I'm exactly someone who would be a target, it makes sense to have it, I'm glad my GFs saab is setup how it is, and my moms.

Agreed. I changed my doors to have the safety feature at your house Chris. Since then my gf has moved out of the city, and I want that feature returned to the normal setting. B/C it's annoying. Double-unlock is not easy on this remote.

The window open/close we did as well. And I like it, but it's not life-changing.

Seatbelt ****. NOW WE'RE TALKING! Thank god it's gone!!!!

Steering, changed. Love it.

What else can we do?

Otherwise, we enjoy our selective entry in the TT, and used to enjoy it in the allroad... in both cases, knowingly...
