S3 Problems

Can anyone tell me the problems I may experience with a 2001 or 2002 model S3? I am looking at both new and used cars. If I purchase new, the warranty will only be useful to me for about 1 Month. I'll then be shipping the car out of the Germany and to a country which does not sell S3's.
