Best tire size for tracking
Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I'm just wondering what the best size tires for our cars would be when tracking (not racing)? I currently have 18" 225/40 (stock size) and was thinking about going up to a 19" wheel, but then Ive also seen how some people are tracking the S3 with a 17" wheel. I know there is probably some weight benefits of a smaller and thus lighter wheel, but are there other factors?

Tire sizes available will also play a factor. I went with 18" to save weight, and there are a ton of autocross tires in the 18" size. You are less likely to damage a rim with more tire also. It's a fine line, but I think 18" for racing, and 17" for snow tires is my preference.
