Default Nav forgets saved places?

I've got a 2016 S3, and just today the Nav system forgot all the saved places. I went to nav somewhere and there were no saved locations anymore. I ended up adding them all back in because they were still in the "recent" list, but I was wondering if anyone else had this happen? This is the first time its done this.

Was your phone connected over Bluetooth? Places stored in the MMI go into a private directory that is associated with your phone and those places are only visible while the phone is connected. This goes for Favorites, too. It's the way the MMI enables multi user support. Basically multiple drivers can store their own places and favorites in the MMI and they are all stored in separate private directories and then depending on which phone is currently connected over Bluetooth it shows the associated private directory. The downside of this is if your phone is not connect or you replaced your old phone with a new one, you don't see your stored places anymore. Generally it's not a good idea to store places directly in the MMI. Store them in your phone and then they sync to the MMI, that way the places you stored move with you from car to car.
