Getting ready to order winter wheels and tires. Couple of questions:

1. What is the standard offset? Tire Rack lists 35mm and 45 mm-- which is it?

2. Will 17--inch wheels clear the large S3 brakes?

1. For most of the Audi OEM S3 wheel selections the offset is between 47mm and 51mm. So if you would like a flush look, 35mm would be close, and 45mm would be more like stock.

2. Yes, 17" will clear the S3 brakes. I would recommend 17" and 45mm offset for winter wheels.
