test driving a used A3 today- anything specific to look out for?
i am going with my friend to test drive a used A3 this guy is selling in my area. The car is for my friend, not me. It is a manual Lava Grey over grey with sports package, cold weather, open sky, bose, xenon and 5900 miles. Is there anything we should look out for in particular? We test drove two new ones but never a used one before.

I regret buying my CPO - should have bought new
For the small discount ending up with problems:
- loose trim
- broken sunshade thingy
- dealer's detail flooded ignition packs caused failure (covered); and today:
- found out today that steering functions (horn, radio control don't work becuase somebody drilled a hole through the function control module!! Dealer is disputing this as a warranty item despite my insistence that they are the only ones who have ever touched the car.
Only bought the CPO 'cuase I couldn't find the options combo I wanted & couldn't wait.

the issue with the CPOs right now, is all the pre release Demos that are not fully featured.
Used should be a better way to go right now, as they are only 1 year out.... I would check the allignment, tracking, wheels for curbage, as well as shakes at speed, paint.
Stuff warranty would not cover.. the sun shade, and stuff like that would not sway me..
that car msrp is 30,210 - would say a fair price would br 25,5 - 26,5
good luck and ask for service history and carfax report

Mine is one of those low VIN AOA-owned, unfortunately...
..looks like whomever had it was monkeying around behind the steering & ended up drilling a hole in the control box lying under the steering spline which is a $600 part. No idea why they would do that. Maybe the car was a test mule?
Dealer can't warranty it since the seal was broken and sent the issue to prior owner (AOA).
It'll be interesting to see how this plays out.
