Re: Meanwhile, back on topic [g] . . .
Had that I known this a week or so ago. Feh.
2008 A3, 12,700 miles, 14 months in my possession. Today I go to start it and click click click with all kinds of lighting up on the speedo and tach. Called Audi roadside assist, after a little bit of phone tree torture and 7 minutes of pacifying music I get the arrangements for the guy to come out and give me a jump. Says all is fine and to drive it for 30 minutes without turning it off, I do this and come home and park and try and start it immediately, click click click.
Called Audi again and the same guy comes out and jumps it. Off to the dealer since they are open till 1 today.
Dealer gives the out-of-warranty speech as I expected. I do the surprised it has happened so soon and the you've got to be kidding it should be covered by some kind of customer sat speech, as expected. No go. $140 for the battery, with a whopping 10% discount for not yelling at him + labor = $185.53.
At least this one is 36month free replacement before they start to pro-rate it. I can't find a brand name anywhere on top of it but at least it has an "eye" to look at every now and then. I asked about if it was really sealed or kind of sealed. He assured me it was really sealed....I have my doubts. I did get a nice carwash and had them top off the fluids. :-)

My A3 battery is DEAD
Found a couple cells low, but it won't take or hold a charge. I can probably start it on the charger, but where do I go? The Audi dealer will no doubt have a battery, but the size appears very close to the super-common Group 24F. Has anyone put a 24F in their A3 2.0T?
