Album art on MMI

I notice some tracks have cover art and some don't. Is the MMI only able to display cover art that's embedded in each mp3 file, or is it able to display files like "folder.jpg" present in the folder, like iTunes or Windows can, as long as it's a certain file name?

Same here. It's wildly inconsistent across sources. The only sure bet is if a player is plugged in via USB (such as my iPhone) — then it will display the album art for nearly every song. But for SD card, it's about 50% of tracks, and for Bluetooth, it's about 5% of tracks.

SD card with my curated mp3 collection where I meticulously edit the id3 tags and folder art. For albums I usually strip all cover art from tracks and have one JPG file per folder, that works as cover art on PC/iPhone when you play any song from the album. Some tracks are mixes and I embed the art in them. I haven't really tested if only this embedded art works on MMI.

I was somewhat amazed that a lot of my CDs from the 80s display the cover art. Not sure how it's done. I have roughy 100 CDs (none new) loaded onto an SD card in the jukebox.

The program that rips the CD and converts them to mp3 can download cover art from the internet and embed it in the mp3 files. Some of the time it will embed cover art from the wrong album.

I use Spotify via bluetooth and I have the same issue. Most of the time its just generic genre specific album art like "Classical", "Rock", etc.
