2012 A5 Prestige w/S-Line Package Ordered
Seeing that the 2012 pricing was finally released on Friday, I went down to my local dealer and placed an order for a manually equipped Prestige with S-Line package in Ice Silver.
Total MSRP on the car is slightly more than a like equipped 2011, which came to $50,100 vs. $49.9k for a 2011.
I am happy Audi included the side assist, and that the new cars will also come equipped with adaptive lighting. My buddy has this on his Saab 9-3 and it is really a nice option.
I already have started looking into mods (exhaust, intake, interior lighting, etc).
I am really excited and will be eagerly awaiting the production info. It looks like the wait will be at least 90 days, but I am in no rush, as my leased 2009 Honda Accord isn't up until December.

The side assist and rear proximity sensors as you would expect employ a very low power/limited range active radar. Your police radar detector is passive receive only, front quadrant, differing frequency(s) and therefore should not be impacted.

I've read that people with the Valentine 1 do have issues with the side assist setting off the detector, but if you turn of the POP settings, it will eliminate the false threat signal.
