My S5 Borla exhaust system review and video
A review:
First its hard to accurately replicate the sound on amateur video equipment. After a couple months with the system I can tell you its terrific. I had reservations about whether this mod was needed. I definitely did not want to take a car that already made a pretty sweet noise and turn it into something obnoxious. The Borla delivered exactly what I wanted. The sound is more of an exotic pitch than say your typical mustang or camaro. Think R8. No noticeable drone. Its basically the same sound as stock at idle and low revs. But get on it and you get that extra umph that makes you turn off the radio. While there is not supposed to be an effect on performance, it sure feels like it. Maybe its just that the lovely sounds coming out the back make one drive it harder… so it only seems like its faster. Either way, perception is somewhat reality. This has really enhanced the enjoyment of the car.
One note, Borla only shows it for the S5 though 2010. That’s simply because they haven’t tested it with newer models. Mine is 2012 and it’s the same set up as earlier years. Fits perfect. Excellent craftsmanship.
Overall I am extremely pleased with this modification and highly recommend Borla

But that's not the same as an after-market exhaust - especially on the 3.0T. The sound is 'piped' via a speaker internally (only) - from outside the exhaust sounds the same.
