402 mod help
Just got my vag-com cable for my new 02 allroad (woohoo!) and i'm trying to play with the 402 mod...
But when I goto 'login', it fails with 'login lost due to dropped session'.
From the research that i've done, it seems the login code is incorrect. Based on the documentation on ross-tech's site, the login code to use is 31564
can anyone confirm success/failure with this as well?
Thanks!
jeff
Nutcase - thats the doc I used as well, it just kept dropping connection when @ the login step.
I'll try again with the input here!
cheers,
jeff
Any process or program running on secondary scheduler could interfere with it, just shut those down (Ctrl/Alt/Del - task manager). And what Paul said, screen saver as well.
Also start the car when doing the 402 to ensure 12 Volt feed to the cable. Uwe (Ross) told me some years back that this could contribute to failure, you need at least this voltage.

I am able to log data from the car, and such, it was just the login part that kept failing.
I'll play around with this tomorrow, but as an aside, today was the first real road trip in the car (only got it a few weeks ago) drove down the I5 from canada to crazy seattle outlet shopping

The allroad was awsome! Great passing power, super stable at decent speeds (100 mphish) and pretty comfy for all 4 of us! Both my wife and I are really pleased with our purchase!
It constantly displays the login lost message.
However, I did a full scan and found the following 3 codes, is it possible they are causing some of my grief?
00776 - Level Control System Sensor; Left Front (G78) - 57-00 - Electric Circuit Failure
01771 - Control Module for Headlight Range (J431) - 79-00 - Please Check Fault Codes
00776 - Level Control System Sensor; Left Front (G78) - 31-00 - Open or Short to Ground
Now, from the research I've done, I've found the following:
Power for the left-hand leveling-system sensors (-G78- and -G76-) is supplied from control module -J431- of the headlight range control system.
This leads me to believe that J431 is bad and the other 2 codes are due to this.
Also, check out this picture, and note the Component codes. The pdf doc shows code X031 where-as mine shows up as X040. Any idea if this is a problem? (sorry, can't figure out how to post pictures within posts)
