402 mod - level - errors
The sits at
FL/FR/RL/RR
400/340/432/345
In adaption, click "up" for channel 1, I get WAIT and 3x NA, and the 2nd of the 2 level indicator lights blink.
a) If I enter a valid number in channel 1, test, save, move up to channel, I get errors
b) If I wait for ever for the blinking light to stop (to get the 3x NA), I get errors
Sometime, I get 'session lost error'.
I have tried putting the in level 3 prior to starting the mod. No difference.
I have tried putting the car in jack mode prior to starting the mod. No difference.
A few times, I was successful (don't know why) in completing the procedure, but heights do not change. I have been around the numbers shown above for maybe 50 tries now.
I have run output test. Sometimes is goes through with 'ok', more often it end with 'NOT OK'.
I am entering small numbers (407 on the left side, 395 on the right side; read that large number may get kicked out).
I am using 01 in channel 5, save to complete the session (it I don't get an error before).
Is the car too far out of whack?
Should I jack the car up a bit on the low (right side) and try to lock that level in manually?
Or disconnect (any risk? It is a 2002 alroad) the battery for some time, manually jack the car to the desired height (402) and then connect again?
Any other suggestions how to get the car level?
The procedure starts with the car deflating to L1 and then inflating the bags to L2 at which point it switches in ready state for entering the new values.
If the car cannot attain the L2 within 30 seconds, the procedure is aborted and your suspension goes into error mode with suspension light permanently on on your instrument cluster.
From my experience, if your system normally always runs compressor when changing levels and changing level takes 30s-1min each time, then the compressor is essentially shut and you won't finish 402. Normal working compressor will have enough power to fill the holding tank and the system will use the tank to fill in bags which takes few seconds per pair.

i had contacted ross-tech service and their answer was "try with engine running!".
After engine on, i always suceeded in 402mod procedure.
But not sure about reason and cause.
Currently also i always try with engine on, never succeeded 402mod procedure without engine running.
Any opinion?
Thanks.

Tried 402 again yesterday, could not enter ONE sequence. When going from channel 0 to 1 (dash light blinks, indicating system is trying to find it level), it times out ("session lost") before the I get the 2 solid green lights.
Running output test (how long to wait for each step?) always ends in 'not ok'.
Is the compressor to slow?
I thought starting from level 3 (so that the system only has to drop, not raise) would help, but did not seem so.
Any good tips how I can get the system to even accept the 4 height settings?

i wanna you to try with engine running like i always do so.
Bringing Audi to Life for Audi Fans
1.With engine running.
2.Always begin at level 2.
2.Enter login code "31564".
3.Not sure right after entering the login code or going channel 0 to 1, warning light of level control comes out and the level 2 green led begins to blink.
This phenomenon always everytime happens for me.
4.Enter the data from channel 1 to 4, and save in channel 5,
and finally the warning light disappears.
But in very few case, the session and comunication lost.
In this case close the vcds application and try again.
My standard value for 402 mod is not 402, but this is "377".
Because at the very moment i save whole 4 channel's data in channel 5, the car always already drops to the level 1, so.
(when i wanna move FL 5mm up, must enter "372" to channel 1)
5.After complete the 402 mod by vcds, i always move up/down level 1-4 at least 3 cycles to end the self learning function.
If you drive around immediately without foing up/down 3 cycles,
the car level will be soon crazy, because almost all the roads and streets are not leveled well.
However im not sure whether your problem is communiction problem relative to above or any other hardware issue something like weak compressor or valve block shot.
Did you pull some fault codes from LCM?
