Adding an amp/sub to the AR?
In the old car (honda) it, the amp, was hidden under the drivers seat, but I've read here that maybe in back in one of the pannels would work.
Also it has some preamp inputs to get the signal from the head unit (in the honda this was done by running leads from the rear speakers to an RCA converter), but I'm not sure of which plugs control this in the Bose.
Could I just replace the Bose amp in the car with this one? Would that be a good idea? I'm at a loss here. Any information would help.
Will swapping out just the OEM speakers w/ better one w/o amps do the trick?
TIA

I had a set of high-end speakers and an amp in my allroad and could never get them to sound that good through the Bose head unit, despite a good line-output converter. Bose really tweaks the equalization to overcompensate for poor quality components, and this needs a product such as above to eliminate this processing.
In my S6 I considered the JL clean sweep with my old Dynaudio speakers and amp, but I decided that I wanted to add navigation, and I ended up going overboard. Oh well, I can't complain about the sound now (its amazing). I did lose my tool kit rack in the process, but the kit itself fits into the passenger side compartment with the Bose sub gone. Incidentally, there is not as much space there as you would think because of the gas filler neck.

https://forums.audiworld.com/allroad/msgs/129474.phtml</a
