alarm problem
In the past month, my alarm has decided to go on and off at random times after parking and locking the car. The only time I can be assured that the alarm will not activate is if I press the interior movement sensor prior to locking the vehicle. Note: The alarm has triggered without my dogs in the car.
Anyone else experiencing this problem?

Mine does it also, but only if I have left the windows open. Apparently it has to do with air motion (see discussion about this below).
Highly annoying. I recently had the sensitivity adjusted, and it is still doing it! Hate locking up the car so tight in the hot weather, just so the alarm doesn't go off.

I went through the same problem with my S4..
I took my car to the dealer asking them to lower the sensitivity of the motion sensor. I verified with my vag-com that they didn't do a thing. Bastards! Anyway, what you need to do is lower the sensitivity value to 50 from 99. It worked like a charm for me. Just find a person local to you with a vag-com. It's a 2 minute process.

Can't have it both ways.
The motion sensors are sensitive intentionally. Although you can reduce the sensitivity, per above posts, with the VAG-COM tool, that reduces the effectiveness of the alarm system.
The button on the door frame is to turn it off when you want to leave a window open (or leave a pet in the car or whatever).
It !might! be possible to reverse the sense of that button with the VAG-COM tool, to use it to turn the system on. I don't know about this, but someone with the tool might. HPH
