Alignment question....
I have seen on here prices in the $65-$120 for an alignment. Where are you getting it done? My dealer just told me this morning that an alignment would cost $287. Well I almost had a heart attack. I called Sears Auto Center and they gave me a price of $69. Why is there such a difference in price? Can I trust Sears or does it really cost just south of $300?

Overhead...
Dealers can't make livable profit on the sale of a car. So the only place to make it is in the service and after sale.
While I would not suggest Sears, I would look at a good independant shop. As on the area forum where you live for suggestions.

KMD sends their alignemt accros the street. rt 22 in springfield.
Probably the best place is Euro Tire in Fairfield.
Personally I've gone to Marios Tire and Alignment on Rt 21 and Emmet St. In Newark. Its not sketchy..all he does is tires and alignments on good Hunter equipment. Make sure you put the car in Jack mode.

My dealer wants $250.
They have a nice shiny chrome and space age dealership that they want me to pay for.
They do, however, set the alignment in level 2 and then look at it again in level 4. I'm sure someone else has the proper description. It is apparently more complex than a normal car to do properly due to our fancy suspension.
All that being said, it's always worth talking to a good indy.

also make sure all four corners are even and use 402 mod to correct if need be.
Audi indicates that +/- 5mm per corner is within spec, however at the extreme that could mean an absolute difference of 10mm.
Find a German with a heavily modded allroad to even it up for you.
