Allroad Trunk Lid Wont Open
Have my car a week today. Yesterday the trunk lid wouldn't open and still won't open. I can hear the mechanism going when I press the lever or the remote, but the lid won't pop. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Sounds as though the lock may need an adjustment, but I can't get it open to do anything.

Tried that, looks like a trip to the dealer incidently.....
What happens if you have a battery failure - is there a manual release for the tailgate? Looks like something that was overlooked.

this may be dumb but have you tried the key?
i think you can position the key in such a way that you can't unlock the hatch?(by turning the key slot so it's horizontal instead of vertical)just a thought

Just back from the dealers....
Needed an adjustment to the lock. Was a real challenge to get the door open. Had to remove a piece of trim under the tailgate inside the trunk and trigger the lock using a strong piece of wire. The inverted U bolt that the door latches to had to be adjusted.
Not a problem I would have expected from a new German car.

I too am having this problem. I removed the inside trim panel and I see one broken part that looks to be part of the solenoid locking mechanism when I actuate the release handle on the outside of the door, I can so no connection to the latch being actuated and can't seem to tell how it could work. No broken pieces inside the hatch.
