Default An alternative to a chip

For those of you who might be interested in a 'chip alternative' I read about this company on some time back in a car magazine. I'm think that you don't touch the internals of the ECU - instead you splice into wires. They only currently have a product for the 1.8T. Also, boost is adjustable. It however doesn't give you the ultimate in power. Click on link for product info...select products, then 1.8T BCS

Here is an e-mail I sent them with a reply:

Luke,

Thanks for your inquiry. We will be working on that next!

Regards,
Mark

Will you be making a boost controller for the Audi 2.7 twin turbo
engine.<ul><li><a href="http://www.splitsec.com/">http://www.splitsec.com/</a</li></ul>

Default You might want to look on the S4 forum. They've looked at all this stuff before.

For the Audi, you need more than just a boost controller. You will also need an enrichment controller too - if not, your engine runs lean and eventually burns a hole in the tops of your pistons ( along with other nasty suprises ).

Why does it work on the 1.8T engines? or don't they?

Default It lasts a little longer ( the 1.8 is very sturdy ), but I've seen them with holed pistons at the

dealer. Some brands of ECU will do the same too.
