Default Another Tire Thread

OK,
I have about 18k on my wr's and they are toast. It took about 1.5 yrs. I paid $1000 for these and i cant do that again. Anyone have any other options. I used these all year round.
I know BIg O makes a tire that they guarntee for 30k, dont know the name.
I live in the rockies so need something that works in summer and winter.
Thanks

This winter I put on Yokohama W.drive tires. They are great! Are severe winter rated, but can be used year-round--which is what I am doing. They are extra-load, and v-speed rated. And I only paid $123 per tire.

any idea on the tread life? The w drive looks like an all season tire. How long will the wear life be on these?

They seem to be holding up real well, but only time will tell. Since they are winter rated, they do not project wear mileage. Testers in Canada said they even lasted well on the test track in the summer.

I have had good luck with the BFG Traction T/A. Of course they are a compromise but so far they offer the best summer/winter/mileage/price combo of the tires I have tried. I don't have as much snow as you and almost no ice so take that into consideration.

I just bought the Big O Euro Tour, I live in the Rockies as well. I like the tire for sure; car handles great with it and they are quiet, same deal I only got 18k on the last set of cheaper BF goodrich's which was not only a crappy tire but had terrible treadwear and was supposed to be geat. the guy at Big Ho told me if I rotate them every 3 k I should get 30k. will see, out the door for 760ish for four.

Kumho Excsta ASX, Z rated, UHP all season and the quietest tire I've ever owned - under $500 mounted and balanced, bought mine from Tire Rack.

TR will drop ship them to the installer of your choice, I used Nat'l Tire and Battery. They called me when they came in, I drove over and an hour later was on the road. The OEM tires (Goodyear F1?) lasted almost 28K, which I understand is very good for that tire. We have about 14k on these and they look like they'll go about the same distance.

I just called these guys, super inexpensive, 418 shipped, with a 30k guarntee. I am going to call big o and see if they will match that.
