ANy of you stage 3 allroaders had seat time in the RS6? How do they compare?
With that said, I've read and heard that it would take a perfectly tuned stage III S4 with a spot-on launch just to beat an RS6 in a 1/4 mile. After that distance the RS6, I've heard, will just about walk any car. So what "seemed" faster by seat-o-pants was perhaps in fact just illusion-o-pants. However, what I really came away with after this drive was: The RS6 is no doubt a fast strong beautiful Audi and the interior, look, and sound is unbeatable. But I really like the avant look, and I really wasn't blown away by this car! Especially for its price and maintenance issues
So I jumpped back into my allroad and drove home with a big smile on my face as those K04's spooled and knowing that I still had those two dollars in my pocket!
Did you see the hwy mileage those guys were getting on my last thread? Better than my allroad. But, again, it goes back to avant cuddly feelings of gushy love for a car with a liftback and plenty of room for stuff... and looks better.
So I surmise, a stage 3 allroad is a guy's guy car. An RS6 stock ride is perhaps just a cool, fun car.
I stand with my C5 RS6 deflecter shield deployed if any of them read that!

The stock RS6 gets to 60MPH in 4.6 seconds, a tuned one is even faster.
The challenge is, once the V8 plays out its torque then it's bye-bye allroad......
And it surely has a big advantage in the handling department, even though the car is heavy Audi managed to setup the ride firm and very responsive.
Braking performance with similar or identical pads is very close but only if you run a BBK on the AR, with HP2 and stock size rotors don't even try ;-)
I respect the RS6, hugely; but wouldn't trade any Stage3 AR for it and here is why - for the same amount of money (or less) you spend on a RS6 you'll get a GT-R 3.0ltr version of the allroad that could run circles around the RS6.
And we are talking about 650+WHP or stage5+......and that's more fun and tempting because nobody expects it.
Another major draw back is the RS6 transmission; not having a MT option and after experiencing Audi's overly sensitive tiptronic units - Thanks but, No Thanks!
As a long distance cruiser, the RS6 slightly beats the allroad, it is no secret that our AR seats are quite uncomfortable when you spend more than 3 hours in them.
Gas mileage? Here is what I think; if people can afford the RS model of any Audi series and bitch about gas prices, well, you get my drift :-).........no offense please to anyone....
