AR differences from A6
That said, THE GOOD: acceleration, handling ( do I miss the Passat, what Passat? ) the good looks of the vehicle, the functionality of it, my insurance actually lowered from the Passat, please don't tell my agent, did I mention the acceleration.
THE BAD: no my family does not have its own fuel refinery, why do you ask? Brake rotors that make an evil grinding noise, but its ok, it drowns out the great AM radio reception, I now need to chip-it, anti-sway-bar it, better tire it, and keep it from getting stolen.
REALLY like this car.
But today, I took it in to have the dealer install my FREE Audi trailer hitch so I can pull my motorcycles with it (BMW R1100sbx & Aprilia Mille, though the Mille is for sale )

Yeah, it was part of my deal. Anyway, they graciously gave me an 04 A6 2.7T loaner while my care is being worked on.
I noticed immediately that the A6 stopped WAY better, gets much better gas mileage, better AM reception. But the Tip shifts from 1st to 2nd automatically at about 2K rpm.....that sucks. The car in general feels way slower than my AR 2.7T.
Is this even possible given the extra weight of the AR.
Thanks in advance,
Robert Mariani
Still, your allroad should have outstanding AM reception. Most likely there is some corrosion at the mounting point of the antenna amplifier in the antenna base and the roof. Click here to see one of my earlier postings about a fix for this. A competent dealer service department should do this for you under warranty.
