CD changer error 3
I've had this error 3 on my wife's 2003 allroad for several months now. The dealer's fix is to replace the unit. I've reviewed several threads and nearly all also involve replacing the unit. Does anyone have a nice step-by-step method to access the changer to fix the jammed disc? Any help or direction would be appreciated. Thanks!!

I took mine out, while still connected I gave it a little "percussive" maintenance (try flipping upside down too) while trying to operate the cd/changer.
It has been several years, and I have not had an issue since.

actually, that's kinda what I was hoping, do you think you could point
me on where to start about taking the radio out? Never done it before on this car and don't want to make matters worse

You need 4 radio extraction tools (T10057).

The radio will slide right out.
I've bought several VAG specific tools from Samstagsales. Never had a problem with them.
You may be able to go to a local local audio store and find a cheaper set, and/or tip one of the installers to pop the unit out a little for you.

fixed it this weekend, saved several hundred over the dealer's quote, it
was ridiculously easy, I can't believe they have the gall to charge for shipping it out for a different changer. Took maybe 10 minutes b/c I was being careful and deliberate. Honestly, the hardest part was figuring out how to disconnect the radio extractor tools once the radio was back in!
