Changed the temp sending unit

Level of difficulty, 2 out of 10. Parts were $30 at stealership or $14 from Carson. If your coolant temp needle jumps from normal to cold constantly, your sending unit is going bad.
The unit is a bit difficult to access so you'll need to remove some of the hoses.

Temp sending unit is the green plug. Consult the tech articles for a detailed writeup.

If you're under 100k miles audi will change it for you or reimburse you for your troubles;-)

really? I wish the parts guy told me that.

YES.... all allroads and A6 2000+ were given a 100,000 mile

warranty on this specific part. The letters started going out from AoA last week to all listed owners. Just drive into the dealer and say..please fix it under the extended warranty.

just remembered that when I called to check for the part

the parts guy said that they just recieved 40 sending units in. Should have raised an eye brow.

The letter had a reimbursement form if you want your $14 back...

I think i threw mine in the garbage but i'll look tonight for you. It should be posted on a nhtsa

site or audi site. Maybe someone that has it could scan it and put it on here?!?

Here's the letter. It's the same as this one only for audis, not vws:-)

I couldn't find the rebate form.
