chips...
ok so Ive been hanging onto this Dalhback chip for a few months now, not having the time to get it installed.
It is from an S4, can it be soldered onto the allroad's ECU and work? Someone told me it will not work because the allroad has an immoblizer but the S4 does not.
My allroad is an 01, so it has the S4's 2.7T.

immobilizer has nothing to do with it...
its all about two main points:
The prgram on the chip may not be written for the allroad TIP or perhaps allroad stick depending on your car.
ALSO.. big ALSO... the physical makeup of the S4 (IIRC) is different for the allroad. The allroad may have more pins (70 I think) than the S4 chip(64) .. subject to year.

completely different gear ratios and curb weight so tuning map....
it won't be optimal. I ran S4 m-box software in my allroad for a while, it went faster but not as solid as tuning designed for the car. Also if the chip originally had an encryption socket you'll need that as well as the chip itself.
