Coil-over conversion electronics fix project
I have alot of experience with the VAG system architecture and some GOOD Dealer contacts who are willing to help. We have a few ideas on how get everything communicating normally. If I can get all the coil over converts to help me compile some data. I think I can help us all enjoy the good ole steel coils without any issues. Any and all information or experiences will help. I'm loving the new suspension but I want everything to work properly, and I'm making it my mission in life to do so. (hopefully it doesn't take that long)
I need the following info.
Model year
Transmission
Engine control module part # and soft coding, any stored DTC
ABS module Part # and soft coding, Any stored DTC
Front brakes, 8 pad(HP-2) or 4 pad(FNR-G60)?
Xenons? Y or N
Headlamp Leveling work?
Does your ESP stay off when you shut it off?
Any other issues you have noticed?
I am in LA and I have a VAG-COM. if there is anyone in LA has an coil over conversion too, lets talk.
I think your area of interest will be in the ABS controller. Also you may want to look at 6 speed vs manual as there is some highly interactive communication between TCU and ABS.
Turned of the ESP and found that it goes back on after 40MPH,
and i tested that several times.
Got to drive back to LA tonight for work. Will see if anything else comes up in the drive.
PS also the shop that did the C/O conversion didn't have a VAG-COM. just on did the displug of the air ride module at the compressor.

this week i am free as of friday
There are a few cars floating around with A lot of money invested in them, and they will all agree it sucks to have a MIL on or not be able to turn the ESP off.
When all the dust settles, I would like to post a part number for an ABS control module and the correct software coding values for the remaining CMs on the network so that you will be able to approach your repair facility with this info and leave with the car working as it should.
So to further clarify I don't need light shined on the subject, or peoples thoughts, unless they include actual diagnostic data(not trying to be a jerk, but I've already read ALL the threads). I'm not selling anything. I'm trying to get everyone working together to fix a problem.
So then, lets get it done. If you don't have access to a VAG-COM, try to find someone near you who does, you can read out all the info I requested in 15min. If you are around LA, I have one send me an email.
Model year: 2001
Transmission: manual
Engine control module part # 4Z7 907 551L (not the original ECU)
soft coding 06712
DTCs for evap control system and misfires (16684 and 16689)
ABS module Part # 4Z7 907 389
soft coding 06395
DTC 01310 can't find level control module (because it's been removed)
Front brakes: Stasis
Xenons: Y
Headlamp Leveling work? apparently not
Does your ESP stay off when you shut it off? See below.
My basic set-up includes Stasis Motorsport suspension and brakes, plus the AWE Stage 3 kit. The level control module has been removed. Before the module was removed, ESP would turn back on briefly after I turned it off. Now it stays off till 40 mph, then turns back on. I've done a few 4-wheel burnouts in the snow and it stayed off then. I didn't keep spinning the tires for many minutes at a time, but I promise to try that next winter.
As for the headlights, VAG-COM cannot communicate with module 55 - Xenon Range, though i do have xenon lights.
If there's anything i can do to help, I'd be glad to.

Anyone else?
I ordered a few used ABS control modules. I'm going to try them out and see which ones can be coded and will be accepted by the other powertrain modules. We can get the ECM and cluster to think it's an A6 2.7T, but the ABS CM is not cooperating. Then I'll figure the lighting out. We're thinking that the power circuit runs through the harness for the suspension Module. we are going to try to make a jumper harness to bypass the module. First I'm going to situate the ABS/ESP though.
