Compass Mirror

Speaking of compasses... I had a question about the Compass mirror. Two actually...

1) can you set it so that it shows actual numeric heading rather than E, W, N, S, etc...

2) Mine, upon engine start, shows "100 *C/*F". This indicates to me that there is some way to link the outside air temperature to show on the compass as well. Anyone know how to activate that feature?

As far as I know you can't change the reading of the digital compass to display numeric values. I have researched this compass a lot & I haven't seen any such option. However for your info the auto-dimming mirror & compass unit is made by Gentex. The compass uses PathPoint firmware/software which is developed by Johnson Controls. Yes there is another mirror made by Gentex which has the temp feature included. The only difference is just below the centre point of the mirror there is a slight moulding which houses buttons for selecting inside or outside temps!

Yes, this is great information. I will research the companies and see if i cant figure out how to get the temp thing to work (i suspect there may be a hack even without the buttons). If i find out anything, i will repost.
