Default CV problem?

Take a look at the pictures below -

found this on both sides, just inside/behind the front wheel wells, and as I am scheduled for 2yr/30k service next week, would like any feedback to counter dealer's anticipated "we'll take a look", and"this is normal" responses.

The grease stalactites dangling from the undercarriage seem to have come from the Inner CV joint, but the CV boot does not seem to be compromised. I don't see how any part ejecting this much grease could be normal. Also, a thunking sound in the front end over slight bumps makes me think otherwise.

Default Nope , anti rust protectant. Expect to see it every summer,

as it melts out of body seems and the like due to heat. Although you DO have an oil leak which I would guess to be the oil return line for the turbo

don't forget my car is going to be at awe starting next week(if you want to check things out) i haven't talked to mike yet this week but i was planning on bringing it down tomorrow.

Default basically just ghetto mods,(short shifter,airbox hole,big k&n cone filter,dts) i have an

oil cooler that i am going to install after the work awe is doing(ko4's,injectors,bigger maf housing,clutch,intercoolers,maybe exhaust manifolds and the custom chip) shtaes was my email name and is a combination of letters from my name. skidmark is much easy to remember. : )

Default Don't they call that crap Cosmoline or something?

Its a waxy goo that they inject onto the insides of body cavities and panels to protect the metal. It melts and seeps in warmer weather.

Default stock chip to K04's in one big jump?

I'll hear the "Woo-hoo!" all the way out in California. Are you sticking with stock exhaust when you get all this done? Are you replacing the timing belt, water pump, and everything, or leaving that alone?

I have the same clunk.. the CV joints look fine. I am anxious to hear what dealer says.
