Die hard !!
(1) AR - If I program the suspension level to level 3 on automatic mode, my car automatically adjusts itself back to level 2 when I exceed +- 50 miles/hr and does not go back to level 3 even if I subsequently either stop or reduce the speed to below +- 50 miles/hr. Any explanations ?? (the AR manual is extremely thin on detail on this issue)
(2) From an outright performance perspective, would the AR be faster than the A4 3.0 Quattro (man)? My suspicion is that the A4 is much quicker off-the-mark (probably due to the turbo lag on the AR), but the question really is would the AR eventually catch up at higher speeds (I live in a high-altitude city)?
By the way, I think this is a helluva great forum !! Peace !

The suspension should go back up to level three is you started ther. Mine does.
One thing: the 2.7T is notable for, among other things, very minimal turbo lag. The tiptronic tranny introduces the lag factor. All discussed here so search if you want. I think the A4 is probably far more "chuckable" and in 3.0 guise, faster than a stock AR.
At altitude, the 2.7T is much stronger than the 3.0 (I live at 7200 feet). The allroad, however, is about 1000 lbs heavier than the A4, so this makes a difference with acceleration and, of course, handling.
The 2.7T 6spd allroad is an incredible performer. I test drove, extensively, both transmission versions -- they are in certain respects totally different cars. The 2.7T tip is almost serene when driven back to back with the 6spd, which, although hardly raw is certainly at the minimum VERY spirited. Based on what I have read herein, chip the tip ar, perhaps chipping the non-tip could be considered "optional."
fwiw, I really wanted to like the 6-sp A4 3.0 (financial reason) but the 6-sp allroad seemed much faster, especially once it's moving. The altitude is probably a big factor, too...5,500 to 6,500 here.
