Digital Audio Input
I read something about a bluetooth adapter somewhere. Just wondering if any has done similar things on theirs to get digital source into the stereo system?
I had quality dealings with enfigcarstereo.com, both online and when I called them to ask questions in person. They gave good advice. I'd recommend them as a place to do business.

The only downside to mine is that the center display always says 'iPod UI' instead of radio/track info. I personally don't care (and my iPod is too old to export track info anyway), but that might be a big deal for you. It's possible a firmware update of some sort might help, but I've never put any effort into it.
Get a cassette adapter for the factory stereo that plugs into your Ipod earbud plug. It basically plays your ipod thru your factory cassette deck, but the music selection is still from your ipod itself. Since the stereo thinks it's a cassette, it plays thru all speakers, and all volume/tone/fade/balance, etc controls work.
It's a little clunky because there's a hard wire from the inserted cassette device to your ipod/iphone, but it's CHEAP, no installation hassles, and the sound quality is excellent.

The advantage to the dension in my case is it keeps the ipod charged. The old one I use had near-zero battery life before being promoted to automobile use.

The sound is excellent for a 128-kbit MP3, even 96-kbit. I love that Bose stereo.
The Allroad, on the other hand, came with the RNS-E and an iPod adapter. It's the kind of adapter that works only when the CD changer is on, and only with the ignition ON.
