Default egt sensor delete done!

i figured a way out of removing the sensor but keeping the ecu fooled to thinking the temp is 945c at all times,

i wonder if i should make a few?

Default can you do this to other sensors?

like the ride height sensor? You could sell lots more of those to people with coil conversions.

Default Why would you want this? The egt sensors protect the motor from leaning out & melting things

I would think the ecu would have picked up on the fact that cold start & 975* temp instantly was not possible.

Default 945 is as low as the sensor ever reads. It's a safety feature for sure, but many remove the n249

which is also a safety feature. I wouldn't remove either, but to each their own.

Default 945c, and for 600-700 dollars

for the egt sensors, sold in pairs only now, and german car parts no longer can get them, leads me to no care if i melt an 02 sensor. rember, the egt sensors are just for temp, but the 02 sensors control your a/f ratio. there are a few 1.8t with egt sensors, but a vast majority don't have them, with Big turbos runing 25+psi on stock 02 sensors with no issues.
its just a BS sensor that cost an arm and a leg that is really not needed.

Default I replied in the B5 forum, but please be aware that high EGTs will kill a lot more than just O2....

....sensors - things like exhaust valves and valve seats, etc.
