ESP Issue
Anyone else having problem with ESP cutting in way too early? My 03 allroad activates ESP at 37-48 MPH on sweeping left-hand, uphill curves of highway. This happens even though all the other traffic is running at that speed (without any signs of distress) and there is no feeling that my allroad is starting to understeer. In fact, I could go through these curves at well over 60 MPH. Dealer has replaced control cpu, yaw sensor, and steering wheel angle sensor. Any other ideas? Again, it only cuts in early when sweeping to the left.

Turn it off.
My '02 exhibits the same kind of sensitivity. One thing that makes a difference is tire pressure... the dealer had put 44lbs in my tires!!! When I lowered the pressure to what I like the sensitivity was decreased... but still there.

At what level?
On level 3, mine will do the same thing, but not on two or one.
Noticed this when on level 4, before the automatic lowering, too. ESP comes on to "compensate" for the higher center of gravity.
Level 1 has much higher threshold and even level two is pretty high (made it come on in the rain at a pretty high speed on an entrance ramp when I was in second gear and floored the car and hit a puddle that was hiding a slight pot hole.)
It seemed somehow appropriate for it to have come on at that time.
On a snow/ice covered parking lot that has not been plowed, and at level one, I can "play" and it is difficult to make the thing to a doughnut with ESP on, so in that case I turn it off.

First, verify that the problem doesn't occur with the ESP turned off, then...
...go through every ESP component, starting at the wheels. I'd suggest that a wheel speed sensor has gone bad (or is loose) - just a guess. It seems to be a sensor since it only occurs when turning left. I haven't heard of this problem on this forum, so it's rather rare.
