Default Grille replacement

I'm considereing a different grille for the allroad. Maybe something that matches the lower (mesh format). Any suggestions / links from the gallery?

Default LLtek site says they have one.

Scroll through the allroad accessories and then check the sports grill link.

allroad accessories

Default There are grilles, I assume, but not the RS 6 grille...nor the...

S6 grille would fit...
The allroad grille is unique among A6s, so there is a very limited market for aftermarket sales...

To me, everything from LLtek looks like ***...everything...but it wouldn't surprise me if there are others available.

Default I've installed the A6 C5 grill from LLTek (see my sig for pic)..

I had to replace the stock AR hood latch with one from an A6 Avant (bolted right in). The stock grill was a pain to remove -- the grill clamps are difficult to push in and break easily. I am going to have a local speed shop match the lower grill work sometime this spring.

Default Yeah, the one I want is this week...

at least I think I want it...will know more at the end of the week.
Everything went very well, I was made an offer...and I will let them know within a couple weeks...which is fine, they know I need to see a couple other places first...they aren't pushing me...they were very nice...I wasn't really expecting to be offered the lead of the subspecialty group...very surprising...

Default Alternative & hint

A DIY alternative is to take it out and apart, and then black out the "chromed" border trapezoid and even the rings. It gives the car a completely different look, which would work especially well on an Atlas model. There's a tech article about this, and I've done a couple of things to improve on that -- in particular:

JBo's right, those retention clips are a pain and, unless the car's brand new, they break easily. Use a hair dryer to heat them up and they'll soften a bit, so you'll have an easier time getting them out without snapping them.

If you go this way, e-mail me and I'll elaborate on a couple of other things.
