... the GIANT picture of an allroad might be a good clue as a suggestion. ;-)
Hellvua change from an i300 to the Pacifica, though. Does he know that the I300 is available as a wagon? I'd probably throw a couple of other wagons in the mix if he doesn't need the size of the Pacifica... A4 and a6 avants... the allroad (needless to say).
If he wants a minivan, there is the Toyota Sienna - (which seems butt ugly, but awfully functional) and the outgoing king, the Honda.
Sorta depends on how much he needs and what he wants to spend.
Great time to buy a car, though - there are amazing things out there, no matter what he ends up with. Thank god for Audi/VW (and otheres) raising the bar for so many in terms of design and style.

I rented one for a week in Fla.
Piece of s@*t...! Bad trottle response. All kinds of electrical problems (i.e., AC, drivers window would not go up if wet, none of the interior lights worked, auto locks kept locking and unlocking while driving....) and it only had 1200 miles on it. Real bad gas milage (16). That 3.5 all-wheel drive likes to drink. Tell him to either get a van, an SUV or a Caddy SVX if he must have both.
