Help - Level Control Fault Code
S i decided to use the Vag and check things out. I figured that I would a "402" mod to correct each ride height. However, I got an error when the car tried level off at level two. Repeated attempts have also failed and now the warning light on the dash remains lit (previously it would go off if the car was turned off, but would come back on after a few minutes of driving.
So I ran a scan to check any DTCs. Sure enough I got this code:
Address 34: Level Control Labels: 4Z7-907-553.LBL
Part No: 4Z7 907 553 F
Component: - 2C1A1 D060
Coding: 25500
Shop #: WSC 42005
2 Faults Found:
01437 - Control Position not Learned
35-00 - -
01400 - Suspension Level Control
08-00 - Control Limit Surpassed
Anyone familiar with these and know if I can do anything (before heading to dealer)?
Went to a german car specialist, so I would hope they used jack mode.
After that, measure each corner to see if the car is off. Remember, you must drive at least 20MPH again before another 402 attempt if your corner height is off and you want to change it.
Should all of this fail to get you back to normal then start attacking each ride height module, clean the contacts, make sure they are mounted properly etc pp. Usually the VAG will return with "value not accepted" if the ride height module is not in working order. The channel will determine the faulty corner/module.
Good luck and keep us posted.

If a warning light comes, and you notice the level is off..then the problem is not solved by releveling it.
What you saw was the symptom of another problem. In essence by trying the 402 adjust the car..you were clearing a symptom. Like clearing a CEL without finding the cause.
Leave the VAG alone and drive a bit. Get to level ground and LOCK the suspension with the buttons. If it will. Shut the car. Start the car, unlock and go to level 4..if it will.
No matter the outcome, get under and check each corner's level sensor unit. You probably have a wire that got cut or loosened during the Hsport install or more likely, the alignment.
Let us know.

If you are up for the challenge then simply disconnect the module and use a Volt/Ohm meter to ensure it works, this thing is nothing else but an inclosed resistor that changes resistance per position of the plastic arm.
Moving the arm up or down should show you different values on the Ohm meter, if the value doesn't change then it is well possible that you have a broken module.
If you are unsure about the method and the result, disconnect another one for confirmation. It's easy to do and not really rocket science, give it a try.
